I find it interesting that AGT 28 is so popular - apparently she is one of the hot items for this holiday season according to the PS's.
I think she's gorgeous, but so are a lot of the other AGTs. Do you think it's because she has a different face mold from other AGTs? Or is it that she looks so much like Marisol? Any other ideas?
Just curious as to other board members' opinions.

I think it might be because she looks like Marisol, and she has shorter hair than most of the dolls. I think her hair is more similar to hair styles of young girls.

It is because she looks like Marisol.
People were saying when they were at AG Place, little girls were picking up #28 like CRAZY and telling their parents "Look, it's Marisol!" so, that's most likley the reason. Marisol was a very hot seller last year, she sold out before Christmas, so girls who didn't get her see #28 as Marisol.

I agree it is because she looks like Marisol. They really hit it with that combination!

I definitely think it is because she looks like Marisol. It could also be because they don't have another hispanic-looking AGT, and her haircut is realistic.

I agree.. its the whole Marisol thing. Its like getting a second chance at something you sorely wanted. People are gonna grab her up at least during this holiday season. I imagine she'll slow down after her newness wears down.

I agree that it's because #28 is a dead ringer for Marisol, (only with shorter hair) and Marisol is no longer available from AG. But #28 IS, and she looks a lot like LOTS of little girls!
I LOVE her facemold, but since I already have Marisol, I won't be getting #28.

Well, My daughter doesn't really know about Marisol, we didn't have any dolls then, and she picked this one as her favorite, anyway, loves everything about her, and her hair will be easier for her to manage.
So, for her it was just her looks. (she loves Kit too)

I couldn't agree more with everyone that #28's strong resemblance to Marisol is probably what is making her so popular.
Also, I noticed in the catalogs that #28 is featured wearing quite a few of the outfits, whereas a lot of the JLY's seem to have hardly any appearances in the catalog. I'm sure that seeing how cute #28 is in the Sightseeing outfit, the 2-in-1 skating outfit, the new PJ's and the Soccer outfit in the big catalog really influences people too.
When I was at AGPNY this weekend, I was extremely, extremely tempted by #28 because she is absolutely darling in person, but I resisted for now, only because DD & I have Marisol. I'm sure #28 will be joining the dolly family here pretty soon, but I'm going to wait until Nikki is released before making any more doll purchases (I hope! Must have willpower!)
